Also, I'm a firm believer that the ghost castmembers of the mansion never really leave. They are just off stage.
So, the original bride is still there working things in the background.
And the Hatbox Ghost decided to be a little more visable this year.

Maybe MG wasn't wearing the same suit when his portrait was painted. I don't wear the same clothes every day. But what if Master Gracey is the Ghost host, but the painting isn't of Master Gracey? Or what if they all are different people? Or what if the decaying portrait is the ghost host but not Master Gracey? Too many possibilities.....

Hm. I think that I am convinced by the costume. I'd never seen a really good picture of the hanging man--but then, thinking about it, I always did think that the Ghost Host seemed by far the most sinister of the occupants. That portrait, doubtless, is the most sinister. I could twist that story quite a long way. I almost like the idea of the sinister 'host' more than the tragic story of the suicidal Master Gracey. Either way, I'll work it in. Thank you for the wonderful pictures!

He did die from hanging himself - that's a portrait of his ghost.

Ah! What's the source for that? I'd like to read up on that bit of information. It doesn't make sense to me, seeing as the Ghost Host obviously died from the hanging, but if it was the intention of Mr. Davis then I would much rather respect that.

I've reached a bit of an impasse. Apparently the hatchet man is thought by a few to be the Ghost Host; it seems to me, however, more logical that the Ghost Host should be Master Gracey, because 'Host' implies 'Master', and the Ghost Host obviously died by hanging (therefore did not survive to cut himself down, as shown in the portrait). The only problem with that, however, is that Yale Gracey was murdered--so should his namesake be spared the hanging?

Thanks so much for mentioning the Ghost Gallery, kreepy karl. That's where most of us fanfic writers get our info, although we've all probably changed some of the facts that were already written to fit with our own visions. And once you get your names figured out, you can post the link for it on doombuggies if you want it to be read. HM fanfic writers are a pretty tight-knit bunch and we love it when a new idea comes along.

I'm writing a HM fanfic of sorts. It's pretty huge already, and I'm entering the editing stage. I have refrained from naming the characters thus far, instead putting little notations such as [ballroom ghost 1] and such. Now that I'm going back and finalizing on names, I'd like to ask if anyone here can submit names that have been already commonly attributed to HM characters (from only the WDW and DL versions). I'd like to also weed out whether or not these names...
