even though it's uncharacteristically surrounded by fresh, young growth, on almost barren property, I am very glad they chose not to construct artificial trees and foliage. |

No, Disneyland's opened in 1969, Disney World in 1971.

Can I take a moment to go
I never did the Welcome to Doombuggies thing to introduce myself due to being shy of what to expect. The comments I've made over time whether wrong,
right, welcomed, or not well received, have always been respected and almost NEVER flamed. People here are decent, respectful, and while we may disagree, we
are always mindful that everyone has a right to thier own opinion. Where someone may not know the answer to a piece of trivia, there is seldom to never
ridicule that comes into play, instead, a helpful friendly voice to help guide us all so we all grow even more together. I guess I just don't know of a
more warm and caring community online then right here and it makes me proud to be part of it.

Anywho, also take note of that little design on the front lawn of the Mansion. That hasn't been around for a LONG time. Very neat shot, though; really shows you the lay of the land, and it's crazy to see how much those trees have grown in nearly 40 years. -Adam- |

This had to be very very early in the park, before they realized that it rains in Florida. (and when it stops raining, it rains some more)
Adam, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but I've seen pictures and had visual experiences myself since the 70's... I'm almost 80% sure that those aren't the same trees that are there today. The branch patterns are not similar, and not even sure it's the same type of tree. I leave that 20% open to say that I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive as the landscaping has changes, so has all of the organic life. |
