Question about pictures |

I hope this is the right place to post this but ive been thinking about this for some time. I just got a new camera to take with me to WDW in a few weeks and I
know im going to take a butt load of pictures of the mansion exterior, but what about the interior? I try to abide by the rules given by the ghost host during
the ride but i really want to take some pictures inside the mansion but i dont know if it'll come out good without a flash. Anyone have any tips and has
anyone taken pictures in the mansion and gotten in trouble for using the flash?

If you wait until there are several empty DoomBuggies in front and behind, you can usually get away with a flash here and there. Otherwise, open the Iris and
use the slowest shutter speed.

Taking photos without a flash inside the mansion can be very very difficult. There's just not a lot of light available. You'll need a camera that can
be set to ISO 3200. This will increase the sensitivity of the camera, but the images will have more noise. A good fast lens will help as well. Even so,
you'll need to shoot at slow shutter speeds that can end up blurry if the camera shakes (even slightly).
If you are planning to use a point and shoot camera, then you will need to use a flash. If you decide to take that route, be kind to others as Capt Quirk suggests and only do it if there is a comfortable buffer between you and other guests. |

Yes, always do as the Capt suggests

Yea, the last thing i would want to do is ruin someone else's experience on the ride by taking pictures. I may be a foolish mortal, but I'm not going
to be jerk
Thanks Capt. and Gordon so much for the tips. I'm gonna try my hardest to get
some decent pictures without any use of a flash and if they don't come out good, o well. I'm just going to enjoy the fact that I'm at WDW and live
in the moment. If I do get any good shots I'll be sure to post them and get your opinions. Only 34 days to go!

Pffft. The broad I encountered on POTC coulda used some of the cap'n's advice.
I looked back at the dead captain's bedchamber, and JUST as turned back to face the front of the boat I got hit in the face with a FLASH from her camera, fired about 12 inches from my eyes. I'm pretty sure the other riders complained to a CM about the new, "saltier" soundtrack on the ride that day... |

The worst experience I ever had on POTC was last Summer. After a rough day of long lines and tourists in Larks running over my feet or stepping on them, it
decided to start pouring down rain. We ducked into POTC's line, which was all the way out from under the cover. We finally get on out boat, and there is a
woman that sounded like a cross between Edith Bunker and Fran Drescher from The Nanny, who is pointing out everything- "Oh! Look at the Donkey!"
"Oh! Look at Johnny Depp!" Oh! Look at...", and she was rather loud as well as annoying, as she went on about each scene. I'd gladly have
traded a dozen flash photographers for her any day.

Listen to the Ghost Host. No flash pictures means no flash pictures. Period. End of story.

Flash photography is not annoying for other guests but for cast members also. Nothing worse than getting popped in the face repeatedly when you've been
working in the dark for hours.
A lot of the effects are either reflections off of glass or projections so what's the point of using flash? You're not going to see anything with flash and if you're using flash on props I doubt the quality will be very good. You won't necessarily get in trouble but personally whenever I work at the cameras and I see people take flash pictures I tell them to stop on the PA. And if they are REALLY belligerent with the flash I get one of the managers to speak with them. |

I just got back from WDW and i refrained from using any kind of flash out of respect to others but i did notice something that really annoyed me, those
flashing led colored necklaces that they sell in the parks that constantly blink. I got stuck behind a girl wearing one on PotC and it was so distracting and
hurt your eyes.
