Cool! I got a Zero headband off Ebay to wear on Halloween. On the other hand, I'm not 1, so it may be more spooky than cute. Now that I think about it.

I was eighteen when NBC exploded onto the scene. I didn't really think it was good or bad then, just a solid film for it's time. My daughter loves it. It reminds me of the Dark Crystal. When I was young I though it was the best movie ever. I had to watch it much later in life and needless to say it doesn't hold up well over time. Because it made such an impression on me at a young age I still like the movie, it's just hard to sit through the whole thing without thinking, "wow, this is long". Maybe NBC is the new (my) Dark Crystal? |

I was 33 when the movie came out and this year for the first time I made it to DLR to see the HM conversion. At the very least I have to say that it was jaw
dropping and eye opening... WOW.
I was skeptical after hearing a number of HM "purists saying that the Holiday conversion was trash and that they hated it, well after riding it 10+ times on 2 different days, I can honestly say that I have lost any respect for those types that are stuck in a time warp.... Disney out did themselfs and created a theme that made me feel like a kid again and puts a smile on my face just thinking about it, And I am not alone, just go there on a Saturday and not only wait in line for a fast pass but expect a wait of 30 plus minutes if you do not have one. I love the HM even more than I did before, Kudos to WDI. |

I think it's a wonderful overlay & I adore it as much as I love the regular version. Oh, and I was 25 when NBC came out...

The NBC overlay is, IMO, perfectly suited for the Mansion and an enjoyable seasonal addition. Not that vampire ducks and creepy carnivorous vines taking over
"small world" wouldn't be fun...just not as contextual.
Anybody else think the loading area looks WAY too empty when the NBC isn't there? You'd think the Imaginears would cook up something for such a large, blank canvas for the rest of the year... |

I'm tried of stupid emos overrating it. Now I love Tim Burton, and his stop motion animation is without a doubt amazing, but I knew Christmas and Halloween
didn't mix. I don't need a two and a half hour movie on it.
Then again Jack Skellington is WAY too over popular for his own good now a days. |

I don't need a two and a half hour movie on it.Isn't it just slightly over one hour? I mean, unless you watch it two and a half times or something. ~robin

"I was 33 when the movie came out and this year for the first time I made it to DLR to see the HM conversion. At the very least I have to say that it was jaw dropping and eye opening... WOW. I personally do not have a problem (Any longer) with people that like HMH. We are all entitled to our own opinions and perspectives. I am very sorry that you have no respect for people, that do not share your sentiments regarding HMH. I would never tell a person that I have no respect for them, just because they like this theming, while I and others so adamantly do not. I like to think that your statement was not meant to make me feel bad, however, initially that is the effect. Now sometimes, I will refer to HMH as trash, which is actually rather harsh, from the standpoint of the time, work and energy that does go into decorating the HM for HMH. As well as the initial planning and design concepts, to begin with. When it comes to my thoughts, knowledge, and feelings of a proper 19 th century Louisiana Bayou Plantation House, because HMH is the polar opposite, that in my opinion it does quite rather trash Gracey Mansion up. To say the least. Would I be most ecstatic if HMH, did not takeover the HM for @ 4 months out of the year, that is an affirmative. I have stated on this site before, why not make it a traveling show, that way everyone that would like to see it, hopefully can. One year, it can be at Dl in Ca. the next year WDW, etc. And this way for those of us that would love to visit Dl in Ca.sometime in Sept.- Jan. can and have our much beloved Gracey Mansion back. I would prefer to see HMH retire and there are many people that agree with me. Once again, the two opposing groups can agree to disagree. Edited for missed typo.

I'm just amused by how, when it was made, Disney wouldn't fess up to making it. It was released under the Touchstone imprint. But then NBC became
really hip in Japan and that hipness translated over here, and now that there's money to be made off it, Disney isn't going to let it go nosir nohow.
I don't mind the attention, since I love NBC and Tim Burton, but it just doesn't feel like a Disney film to me. Maybe because it wasn't for so long ^_~ It's a Burton film to the gills, regardless of which company happened to distribute it. |

I just simply cannot accept it at the HM. It so just does not agree with me at all. I have gotten into arguments over it, been insulted by people that just do
not understand my sentiments, no matter how clearly I attempt to communicate them. I am tired of the argument, either one likes HMH or they do not. I will
forever belong to the latter category, and I well never feel bad about it, nor apologise for my perspective and opinions. Sometimes I feel like I should state
my rational for my sentiments in the form of a signature. However, I am not interested in giving free advertising for the HMH.

But then NBC became really hip in Japan and that hipness translated over here, and now that there's money to be made off it, Disney isn't going to let it go nosir nohow. They closed the barn door after the horse got out and won the triple crown, and are now taking all credit for said horse's victory. As annoying as the 'hot topicians' are, its rise to the top of popularity was a one-in-a-million comeback. Remember, when it was released it looked like it was dead (in a bad way, not the good way that we like). But then it rather appropriately rose from the grave to become the modern classic that it is. That makes it all the more remarkable of a film. But the hotoppers ARE truly bothersome all the same.... |

Excuse my ignorance, however what exactly is a hotopper? I do not recall that term.

It's just a term I made up right now for no really good reason for the Hot Topic crowd.

Thank you for the clarification. Now, I do not feel dumb.
I like the idea of making up new words. |
