Has Disney ever made HMH stretching portrait prints available for sale? or the phantom manor ones?

At the very first Haunted Mansion Holiday event in 2001 the HMH stretching portraits were available as a set of lithos on the RSP. The only other appearance I
know of is pins.
I've seen a print of the PM portraits but I don't know when or where it was sold. |

The HMH stretching portraits were available in the Disney Gallery's Print on Demand system a few years ago. I bought three of the four... and now I'm
kicking myself for not buying the fourth. I'm not sure why I didn't.

There are actually five HMH stretching portraits. Three are in both stretch rooms, the other two are each in only one stretch room.
And dizneydogs, please don't edit your post after it's been replied to. |

Just so I can be persnickety there have been 6 HMH Stretching portraits. There was an Oogie portrait they only used for one year in 2003. |

I have the sets of prints they released from the first two Haunted Mansion Holiday events. Both come in a coffin-shaped cardboard holder (flat). The first
contains the stretching portraits (or only some of them, I guess), while the second contains the changing portraits. I would be happy to sell them if
dizneydogs is interested--I managed to wean myself off Haunted Mansion Holiday before things got out of control. You can reach me at moobooks@ix.netcom.com

The stretching paintings for Phantom Manor, painted by Imagineer Julie Svendsen, were released by the Disney Gallery as one of their "photo-lithos,"
which means they are actually photographic prints that come pre-mounted on foam core: four separate windows in the mat, one for each painting. The date of the
release, and signing at the gallery, was Oct.30, 1994. Both Svendsen and Marc Davis were there (he to sign a matching set of his stretching room paintings,
produced the same way as photo-lithos). I don't know of any other time the Phantom Manor stretching paintings have been reproduced and sold.
Julie Svendson is the daughter of Julius Svendsen, who worked on many Disney films. In either the big Imagineering book, or the big Disneyland Paris book (can't recall which), there is a lovely painting of Phantom Manor in its original (pre-rundown) state--it was done by Svendsen, but there's no credit in the caption. |
