I believe the poster referring to "Hound of the Baskervilles" has it right. I seem to recall a discussion somewhere - just not sure if it was on this
site or not - detailing that skeletal canine in the graveyard and how it could only be that of a large dog like a hound rather than that of a wolf. Assuming
that the howls heard throughout the mansion are due to this spectral critter alone that is...

I think the answer is both and neither, in a way. I'm sure they got a dog for the recording, and labeled it thusly. However, I think that guests are
supposed to believe that in the context of the ride, it is a wolf. Like the Count says: "Children of the night. What music they make!"
The writers and artists at SLG thought it was a wolf anyway, and their HM comic series is the best and closest thing to a cohesive story for the happy haunts that I've read. I choose to believe it's a wolf. |
