I'm writing a HM fanfic of sorts. It's pretty huge already, and I'm entering the editing stage. I have refrained from naming the characters thus far, instead putting little notations such as [ballroom ghost 1] and such. Now that I'm going back and finalizing on names, I'd like to ask if anyone here can submit names that have been already commonly attributed to HM characters (from only the WDW and DL versions). I'd like to also weed out whether or not these names I'm finding floating around the net come from specific fanfics (I don't want those).
For example: Gus Gracey, Ezra Dobbins, Phineas Queeg, Lillian O'Malley, Little Leota, Edward Gracey, and George Gracey.
Is 'Master Gracey' commonly called George Gracey, or Edward Gracey? My goal is to keep an arms length from the film version, and I know that he was Edward in that, but I think most fans thought of him as 'George'.
So, names from paintings, apparitions, or legends, anyone?
Also, I'm in a terrible conflict with the attic bride. Personally, I like both versions, heart-beat and Constance, but they don't currently co-exist. In your opinion, should I incorporate the original, the current, or somehow try to give them both a place?
