I love Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow the most I think, but generally all of his films are amazing. He truly is a wonderful director. Love the short
Vincent as well..
How's mum?

I love all things Burton as well and have been anticipating "Alice in Wonderland" for what feels like forever. I did a project on him for a film class I took, so I've done a bit of research of his work. Being a huge musical theatre fan, I was thrilled with "Sweeney Todd", such a wonderful interpretation of Sondheim's Broadway production. Part of what makes Burton's films so fabulous is his use of Danny Elfman's compositions.... brilliant music. And of course his casting... He VERY frequently casts Johnny Depp, a wonderfully gifted actor; and, of course, Burton casts the love of his life in many of his films, Helena Bonham Carter. If you IMDB Tim Burton and then look through the list of actors used in each of his movies, you'll see how well he utilizes the talent of his chosen cast to better create his work.

Kelley, have you read Burton on Burton? It's a great book on his career, well worth checking out.

No, I haven't, and I actually just went to the library today. I got some Mercedes
Lackey books. I'll have to see if I can find it in the local branch, and if not, I'll check Barnes and Noble. I'm assuming from the title that
it's an autobiography. Burton seems well spoken in interviews and of course he writes poetry, but does he have a talent for the written word?
Oh, have you seen the episode of 'Faery Tale Theatre' that Burton directed? I watched many of the installments of the fairy tale collection as a child and loved the way the stories were told. Burton's particular piece is 'Alladin and His Wonderful Lamp' from 1986. I love his equivalent to the cave of wonders. Check it out Burton lovers.....

Putting the Audio of "Whole New World" to the visuals of "Sweeny Todd" was bloody hysterical. |

Thanks for posting all of that Princess Kelly! I am also Tim Burton/ Helena Bonham Carter obsessed. Nightmare Before X-mas is my favorite movie ever/ with A
Room with a View as a close second. Tim Burton speaks every year at the El Capatain theater here in Los Angeles (Usually opening night of Nightmare Before
X-mas) around Halloween time. Such an interesting person... his personal life is just as weird as his movies. I LOVE IT!

I actually changed my mind, Big Fish is my favorite Tim Burton film. I really can relate to its underlying message, the cast, the sets and the atmosphere are
just breathtaking. It's one of few movies that make me cry.
