I appreciate your insight. You really think that I will could get both if they are in my top 10? That suprises me. Granted, I have never done an RSP before. But.... just given the number of people (the running estimate seems to be at least 1000 - presumably all collectors) and the limited number of most of the items... I was really thinking I would be lucky to get one or 2 things in my top 5! I just checked my original email and it says: "The RSP is due by 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 31, 2009. You will receive an e-mail with the RSP link beginning Friday, February 20, 2009 to input your RSP selections." Not that it really matters. More time allows me to second guess myself all over again. hehe. Thanks again for the help.

Many people just come for the event, not to buy stuff (even though it's a "merchandise event"). Also, money is an issue right now for many people, even though they've given us plenty of time to save our pennies. I nkow that, personally, I won't be buying as much as normal.

The last event that we attended that sounded like this was the one for the second Pirates film where at one point in the evening, they shoehorned all of us down mainstreet during the fireworks. If it wasn't for the pirate ears we all had, we would have gotten lost in the fray. We may have to really keep our eyes pealed the night of the 40th so we don't fall into the twilight zone of all the hamster trails that will be up in DCA.

Typical WDW Event Services total screw up. I just walked right past the CM who tried to stop me, but other folks were stuck on Main Street for an hour and had very little time to ride Pirates.

I didn't realize that some of that huge mass of ours got stuck out on mainstreet!

You had hundreds of people trying to go north on a totally gridlocked Main Street during the fireworks when CMs were told not to let anyone through because of the gridlock. It was insanity. There's some dumbo screwup like that at every event . At the Pirate Event in Florida, all the top tier folks had a special dinner on the first night and many folks never got desert because they hurried us out of wherever we were (River Country) for some obscure reason.

I think Kevin and Jody submitted about a dozen ideas for merchandise items and only two were selected. Don't be too harsh on the bookends yet: note that the text says the final product may vary. You're looking at a preliminary pre-production sample from China and the eventual paint job might look entirely different. At least the final piece has the arms!

The Indiana Jones top tier gift was pretty damn uninteresting and that was around $450 as well.

The difference in cost between your package and the two top tier packages is almost entirely the hotel room. The Indy top tier gift was a leather-bound blank journal in a rusted box. It looked like something that was not made for the event, but rather purchased and then stamped or embossed. It was definitely a letdown. All of the merchandise for the Indy event was centered around Mara, and NOTHING with Indiana Jones on it (because they didn't have the right to use Harrison Ford's likeness). The block of clay (or whatever it was) was something you were given and told to go over to the Mark Twain dock and crack away at it with a small hammer until (like an archeologist) you discovered what was inside. That was pretty cool, and there was a box with a pin in the middle. However, all of us who where over there at a certain part of the evening not only missed Tony Baxter make his speech in Advetureland, we also missed the announcement about the ride-through of Indy with the lights on. Stupid scheduling--a typical foul up. There'll be one at this event in September--some bozo moment.
