I can't say I'm not a Constance fan, when one has an unusual, old-fashioned name and Disney of all people suddenly gives said name to a character, I think it's natural to develop a fondness, but Haunted Mansion has always been morbid. The stretching portraits, one of which is actually canonically Constance (I'm not sure about the order of that, if it's retcon or if Constance now is a nod to the portrait or if it was there the whole time and just didn't get put in until now, there's nothing reliable on the internet about it, just 15 bazillion different stories), are really VERY violent. Dear old George (now Constance's 5th and final hubby) has been there with an axe in his head for 40 years, thanks to the fantastic Marc Davis. When I was a kid I remember them really scaring me, especially the tightrope walker! A young lady about to be eaten by a crocodile/alligator is pretty terrible!

Also, I will point out that the Ghost Host HUNG HIMSELF TO DEATH to try to get out of the Room/Mansion.... Not exactly the stuff of "silly spooks".  Disney has always been a bit morbid. Faerie Tales are some of the most gruesome things out there!

I do think her face could use a little more sculpting, however!
