Johnny,

Of course, you are right.  But.  As apathetic as it may sound... what else can we expect?  These are NOT the original Imagineers... these are the up-and-coming generation who were not inspired by the same source material that X, Marc Davis and the rest enjoyed.  The current generation have been inspired by the current generation.  The watering-down effect, (sadly) I think, has to be expected.  It's the same all over.  Movies, TV, books... with rare exception it is all dumbed down to the point of being intolerable (to some of us).  Overall, however, the population eats it up... because they too are suffering from the trickle-down lack-of-quality culture that we are now a part of (like it or not).

But... that is the world we live in.  I think it's understandable that the current gen of Imagineers are catering to the masses.  They DO need things explained to them.  And they need people to buy admission tickets.

I think your anger and frustration are valid tho.  I feel them too.  Luckily, there are some things in life that are never going to be tampered with (the writings of Lovecraft, is an example).  They will always be true and no one is going to come along and alter them.  The Mansion... it's just never going to be that way.  Everyone has their own opinion of Walt's infamous words about "Disneyland never being finished"... etc.  And now we are seeing what happens when different people get their turn at bat with Walt's babies.

That being said... I like the idea of Constance.    Just wish she was implemented better.

That's my rant for today.  Pointless interjection, perhaps.  But I do feel your pain.
