But pre-comitted ideas or constructs as to how the supernatural works, what rules there are, etc are inevitable. The mass culture as well as our own mental faculties have planted so many different ideas in both our collective and individual heads that I doubt very much any two people have the same beliefs in regards to the otherside. There is also such a thing as keeping an open mind but I question any notion that states or demands we drop all or most of our mental constructs, as if that were possible, the momemt we pass the gates in order that we may understand their logic and their constructs. And to expect everyone who tours the Mansion to be on the same page just doesn't hold water either to me. Not that I'm accusing you of this, but it seems like WDI is forcing its audience into a corner while all the while not fully explaining what rules they are going by to have their story make sense. If they did then maybe the GH language wouldn't have raised a red flag to me. Instead they are squeezing it (the whole story thing) inbetween what-ever perceptible cracks they can find. Not realizing that there are no cracks to begin with or loose end that need to be tied. But if a story is what they want then a near to a complete overhaul is sadly the only way really to have this come out the way they want it. The story will need to engage the audience the moment one enters like they did over in France's PM. I view this whole debacle as the failures of not only the Constance story but of any story that attempts to apply itself to what clearly was never meant to have a firm fable and to what the Mansion already contains. Perhaps this is one reason why Walt and the original imagineers only gave the public a premise and scenes related by a common theme when building attractions not directly related to thier film canon. It would save them the hassel of having to explain theselves or to clarify, not as if they ever would but they did have a sense of responsibility to their work and the public. As it appears now one already needs to know the backstory beforehand, before even going on the ride or entering the park to have the ride now make sense. The average tourist shouldn't need to read a book, a tutorial or what not as a prerequisite just to understand a Disney attraction. I know that's why WDI has gone to great lengths to make those connections, the rose etc, But I'd wager that most people still miss the link up by simple riding through. There will always be in the end those theories that just don't gel well with this, "Connie crap," and I suspect not all of them can be eliminated. Though one could always take up what I call the Obi-Wan defence. This is that it makes senses "from a certain point of view." But to have to go to such lengths is irritating and shouln't oughta be.
