The ghoul that pops up in the attic is one of the many random ghosts whom you don't really get to know, like the ghosts in the graveyard at the beginning of the story that try to grab Destiny, or the corridor of doors spooks. If you're interested in seeing a pop-up ghost as a central character, check out the HM role play game. You are right, Irishartist. FF should most definitely put her novel on paper the moment it is finished, get copyright grants from Disney (if Disney itself doesn't immediately want to publish it as it is a fabulous work of art and most likely they will) and get it published and watch the money roll in from your "New York Best seller" / "100,000th copy sold within a week of being on the shelves" / "can't get anymore sleep 'cause of all the autograph requests."
You'll soon be able to buy your own mansion to live in. (take a look at the floorplans  Nudge, nudge; wink, wink; say no more, say no more  )
