So, if you're making a special trip out to Disneyland to see the HM there, do *not* miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (if you're a fan of all manner of dark rides; safe assumption here I think). :-)

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland - thumbs up, classic dark ride |

Having only visited Disney World throughout my life, I recently got a chance to experience Disneyland. I rode Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and that completely
delighted me. It was a classic black-light dark ride, with a great deal of fog and red/orange lights (could be mistaken), where it seems Mr. Toad is going
through hell! I'm completely bummed to know that, at one time, the Magic Kingdom had a version of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride--I think that got converted to
Pooh.

Yeah, WDW lost 20,000 Leagues and Mr Toad, while DL lost Country Bears, the People Mover, and I think there was something else but I just don't remember.
Major bummer dude...

Yes, my 3rd favorite ride in DL (1. HM 2. Pirates), and just too much of a classic to forsake even though it's not very long or thrilling by the
conventional sense. I read a DL guide recently that gave this ride the lowest rating of any Fantasyland ride. Couldn't disagree more. I would say
that's like comparing Wizard of Oz to Lord of the Rings. Without putting the old movie into context, it can't compare. But, when it was made, it was
brilliant compared to what came before it.
Plus, I love the dark twisted undertones to the wild ride. ![]()

I haven't been on Mr. Toad since I was seven. Mr. Toad is one of the many reasons I hope I can go to Disneyland someday

When I was a child, Mr. Toad was in my top 5. I was sorry to hear that it was gone. At least they gave him a statue in the pet cemetery.
Anyone else want to admit that the "Merrily" Song is a reoccurring anurythm (ear worm)? And I haven't been on it in DECADES! |
