It's that time again. Time for our annual (6th?, I can't keep track) Secret Scary Santa gift exchange. This is an opportunity for you to get to know another doombug by purchasing a Christmas gift for them and playing Santa by shipping it off via snail mail. This has been a successful and long awaited activity for many so why not join many of our yearly participants and have some Frightful Fun. Don't forget to sign up NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 26th.
Q. What is the Secret Scary Santa gift exchange?
A. You purchase a gift for around ($20) and mail it to your Secret Scary Pal.
Q. Who is my Secret Scary Pal?
A. Names are randomly drawn and paired up by the elves at the North Pole. You will receive the name of your Secret Scary Pal via email from the elves in charge of randomization. Your Secret Scary Pal will not know who you are until you reveal yourself in a note in your gift. Specific Secret Scary Pals may not be requested, all pairings are random.
Q. What do I buy my Secret Scary Pal?
A. Anything having to do with the Haunted Mansion is always welcome, but since most of us have a vast repertoire we will post a special thread where all participants can leave hints to their Secret Scary Santas about what they like, collect, want, etc.
Q. How much do I spend?
A. Well as a general rule around ($20) is considered appropriate, however, you may spend more if you wish. This amount can include the shipping costs.
Q. How do I send my gift?
A. You will send your gift via snail mail (you may choose your carrier of choice) to your Secret Scary Pal's address which will be sent to you via email. Please send your gift NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 17th so it can arrive in time for the holidays
Q. When does my Secret Scary Pal find out who I am?
A. You can include a card with your gift revealing your identity.
Q. How do I sign up?
A. Send an email NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 26th to the head elf at northpole@hauntedmansion.com and include the following information:
1. Your real name
2. Your user name
3. Your mailing address
4. Your email contact address
Q. How do I know if I'm signed up?
A. The elf in charge of communications will always reply to your emails indicating that you have been signed up. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please email the north pole again and post an inquiry on this thread and an elf will get back to you.
Q. When will I receive the name of my Secret Scary Pal?
A. The elf in charge of randomization will pair up names and the elf in charge of communications will send out emails to all participants on Friday November 28th. letting them know the name of their Secret Scary Pal as well as their address.
Q. What if I don't receive a gift?
A. The elf in charge of distribution keeps on top of all Secret Scary Santas to ensure that all participants do eventually receive a gift. It is the policy of the north pole not to excuse those who flake without good reason and they will be placed on the naughty list for next year. If the real Santa can get gifts out to all the boys and girls of the world in one night, a Secret Scary Santa should be able to handle one gift within 2 weeks. Remember send your gift out NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 17th
