As the final hours before the deadline approach... I would just like to wish everyone luck.
Only about 10 more days till we know... Hard to believe the time has flown by.

Yes, wishing everyone luck on their RSP!
I think no matter what I get, I will have fun doing the bridal bash and toasting the mansion on the big day. It will also be nice to meet some of my fellow DB's!! |

Do they e-mail you your results on your RSP Form(s) or do they actually mail you a letter about the results? This is my first experience with RSPs.

I am starting to get antsy. And there is still a week till the letters go out. Not a good sign.
I envy you guys who are going to the SHAG event. I am not a huge SHAG fan, but at least it's a Mansion celebration. And you get to pick up your neat stuff. Here's hoping that the ebay seller who pre-sold me a cookie jar will ship it with expedience. Heh. |

While it seems self-explanitory.... what do you think the Toast & Cake Slicing portion of the event will consist of? Literally... just... pick up a
piece of cake and eat it before entering the mansion? Think there will be anything more to it?

The Hitchhiker tickets are essentially an inexpensive way to get access to the RSP merchandise. What they will get on the night of the event will be minimal
and to expect anything more will lead to disappointment.
From the sound of it, Hitchhikers will probably be filing past tables with a slice of cake on a plate or a cupcake. They do get one keepsake, which is a plus. A part of these types of events for many is socializing, and lots of people hang out in the registration area where the merchandise is on display. Don't be shy--make sure we know who you are! If the rest of your family is not into that, then the best thing to do is have a great day at the park until you break away for registration and so on. I can't recall which package you have, but my advice is to register as early as possible to avoid long lines. If you can't register and do your merchandise pick up on the late afternoon and evening of the 8th, then be on line at least 30 minutes before registration is scheduled to open the morning of the 9th. At some point, after your family has done the merchandise part, you might want to send them on to the parks if you can find any of us to hang around with. Some people hang around the registration area for a good part of the day, because if you begin the registration process at, say, 11 am, by the time you're done it's time to go on to the artist signing (if that's on your agenda) at 1 pm. That can take another hour or two. By the time you're done with that, you can escape and spend a few hours with your family, then it's time to meet up for the dinner. You can spend as much or as little time devoted to the whole thing as you like (except for what is required to register and get your stuff.) |

Cool.
Yeah. I have a Dearly Departed, myself. My family doesn't even know I was able to score them HH tickets... .so they will be pleasantly surprised just to be able to go on the ride after-hours. I (for one) am planning to register and pick up merchandise ASAP on the first night. Luckily, we are staying at the GCH. So. If the lines are long (say, 3 hours long, like at the Shag event. I will definitely be up for meeting any Doombugs. I will be easy to spot - tall, skinny guy, bald head, drooling a lot over all the neat swag. |

Lines won't be long if you get there early. From my recollection of past events, there are actually several tall, skinny, bald guys--if you don't have
any tattoos you might stand out.
Laughing Place issued buttons to its online members one year so they could identify one another at, I think, the 2000 Pirate Event. It'd be nice if something like that could be arranged for us, though many of us will meet the night of the 8th for the Bridal Bash. Anyway, I've never hidden my identity--if you see me, say hello. Here's a pic of me in Tokyo DisneySea:
Oops--that's actually a Mickey Pizza. Here's a pic of me with Richard Sherman (I'm the slightly younger one on the left):

No tattoos.
Nice tux! You should wear it on the 9th! Then we will recognize you for sure. What event is that photo from? |

The photo was taken at the Academy of Magical Arts award banquet in 2008 where we were co-presenters. Richard Sherman is a close friend of Milt Larsen, the
co-creator of The Magic Castle in Hollywood, California--that's why he was there. I publish a magazine in our field. We stood behind the curtain before
being introduced and sang the lyrics to Meet the World together. Geek heaven, man.

No one has checked in. I guess that means the RSPs were a no show today?
I am in AZ, so if you guys didn't get yours yet, I am guessing it will not be waiting in my mailbox when I get home today. |
