THE HATBOX GHOST TO RETURN IN 2009 |
Lead | |
|
It's hard to see any way to take this official posting other than as a virtual announcement that you-know-who is coming.

Will he be just for The Anaheim Mansion? This will be the first time anyone to my knowledge has ever seen it.

Does anyone know WHEN they will post some of the merchanside that we can purchase at this event? (not including the Shag art)
ALSO. Does anyone have any idea how many attendees they can accomodate for an event like this? And how quickly it's expected to sell out? Thanks!!! |

I have been waiting my whole life for this moment. As a kid having the records I always wondered where he was
hiding. With my tiny eyes I would scourer the Mansion for him, only to realize that he was no longer there. Then there was the big figure release, hope was
restored. And my obsession resurfaced. Now I will have to paint more portraits waiting for this reality. This one is old but, I always believed!

Oh Man! I wonder if it's true or if they are just going to introduce some new, cooked up character. Man, if it is really him, that would be amazingly
friggin groovy cool!
I wonder when they will release the details of the packages. Seems like the open/ending booking times will be coming up quickly. |

I don't see the diiference between the Grinning ghost and foolish mortal packages. Any one know?

Heh heh...I like that at the end. H. B. Ghost.
Oddly, it makes me think old Hatty is taking over Eddie Murphy's role (as real estate guy).
Aside from that, it'd be nice if this turns out to be true. |

I think, for me, the most reassuring bit about this whole thing is that this thread is still going. I mean, I understand that the powers-that-be can't
always be 100% in the know on anything, but there's a lot of audacity in posting a thread titled "The Hatbox Ghost to Return in 2009" when
Disney's made no official announcement. Certainly if the administrators had thought a title like that would have gotten people's hopes up for no reason
they would have edited the title or closed the thread by now. And yet, it persists. There MUST be a good reason, right?

Hey, this may or may not come true but a little speculation never hurt anyone. Alot of folks are wondering if this will happen. Myself included.

Combine this new announcement...
...with this little paragraph that's been up at the official Julia Lee website for quite some time...
...plus the title of this SHAG painting, depicting what looks like the HBG (the hat is the giveaway)...
...and make of it what you will. |

I think the cape is the most interesting thing about the SHAG painting. Hatty's got a cape.
Still, it irks me. The Ghost Host? After all that time, they're going to put a face on the Ghost Host? Not just a face, but a character! And a character that we see in the attic, after the Ghost Host leaves us. Then, when he joins us again, he's nowhere to be seen. I dunno if SHAG's artwork could be anything more than simple tribute. I'm certainly hoping that they don't try and tie the two characters in. The Ghost Host needs no face or physical form. Hattie doesn't need a voice. It worries me that they're going to try and connect Master Gracey to the Hatbox Ghost as well. The Mansion also doesn't need a tangled, ret-conned storyline in it, either. It was designed as a retirement home for spooks who lost their homes over the years, simple as that. -Adam- |

OK, hold up! I do not like the bit about her final conquest! How I wish that I could write the storylines for the HM!

I think it's actually doubtful that the HBG will be identified with either "Master Gracey" or the Ghost Host. (And remember, kids, those are two
different characters; the GH is the Hatchet Man)
Anyway, the HBG obviously died by decapitation. The GH died by hanging, and "Master Gracey" (i.e., the Dorian Gray portrait) morphs to a corpse before your eyes, and he's still got his head, so however he died, it wasn't by decapitation. Therefore, it would be a real strain to try to identify the HBG with either of these two guys. I suspect he's going to be identified as a hitherto unknown character, a fellow who married Constance in her later years. Like the rest of you, I really hope they don't script him to some kind of backstory too specifically. Let him remain mysterious! |
