I'm one of those (annoying?) people who make up new lyrics to songs.
I'm sure many of you do the same thing, so I thought we could make a game out of it.
I got this idea while surfing the Monster List. Some people had made talking animatronics or had converted existing electronic devices like "the singing fish" or the "singing, dancing Xmas tree." I began to wonder "What would my severed head sing?"
Creepy Lyrics Game
Object: To create new, spooky lyrics to existing songs and commercials and have the other Doombugs to guess the original song (and composer).
Rules (more of guidelines really)
1] The Lyrics should be CREEPY! (but suitable for this forum)
The creepier the better.
2] Complete at least the refrain. You don't have to do the entire song. But more is better.
BAD Example
"Here's a little song I wrote. You want to sing it to a goat"
It's not spooky and it's a little short.
3] Be Original. Don't submit "Leprosy" by the Beatles or "Blinded by the night". Adding NEW lyrics to these songs is fine.
4] NO CHRISTMAS SONGS FROM SEPTEMBER TLL HALLOWEEN!!!
5] Your version has to be recognizable from the original. Remember, we can't hear the melody.
6] Try not to choose too obscure a song.
7] Multiple entries for the same song are OK! Feel free to add additional lyrics or complete an unfinished song.
8] Play nice. If you redo a song it is because yours is different - not
better. Nice comments only. "Your lyrics were so horrible I threw up
and I couldn't sleep all night!" is a good comment. "You Suck!" isn't.
9] Hints are OK (after awhile). EX: Era, Genre, or if it's a commercial.
10] If you want to submit a new song before the previous one is solved you can. But you have to attach any unsolved songs to your post.
