DISCLAIMER: This assumes that you know what a band organ is. If you don't, please look at this site: A Wikipedia Article on Band Organs
One of my favorite things ever are carousels and Band organs. So, while search iTunes the other day, and I found this: DISNEY WORLD CAROUSEL ORGAN (this requires iTunes.)
The name of this organ (Sadie May) appears on another record, so it may just be a way to attract customers.
Here's my question: Does the park actually have a band organ? I was under the impression (I could be wrong) that the carousels in the various have the organ facades, but they are gutted and have speakers in them, rather than pipes and glockenspiels. But are there real band organs anywhere else in the parks?
I would imagine them to impractical, since they need to have the rolls of music changed periodically and require special maintenance, etc.
FUN FACT: The carousel at WDW, Cinderella's Golden Carousel, was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1917. One of her sister carousels is in my area. WDW's is unit PTC46, while Cafesjian's Carousel at Como Park is PTC33 and was built in 1914. PTC33 has the distinction of being only one of three carousels in the entire country to be operating with not just it's original paint scheme, but it's original paint. Cafesjian's Carousel. Interestingly, another of their carousels is at Valleyfair, PTC76, as well as some at Six Flags parks. List of Philidelphia Toboggan Company Carousels in exsistance.
