The DL doom-buggy exit spiel... |

There's always been one track I've scratched my head over when it comes the Disneyland HM - specifically the alternating male/female voices heard
telling you to "Please exit to your left by stepping away from the cars with your left foot first. Step out and stand on the moving platform
please..." Talk about pretty much killing the theme - there's nary a hint of the supernatural in either performance but instead are as
straight-forward and pedantic as can be! (In fact you get the feeling they could have been just as easily heard verbatim at the exit to "Adventures Thru
Inner Space.") With all the attention to detail that disney put into theming the attraction so perfectly, just *why* would they decide to go with
something that mundane? Interestingly, the WDW HM never felt the need to include this, but instead just seemed happy to end with the GH telling you to
"Watch your step..." and leave it at that...

There would always be dummies who think it's a gag, a hitchhiking ghost trying to coax them into leaving (or something), and they'd just sit there smiling like idiots. The spiel they have now is not the original one; it's much more pedantic and unghostly than the earlier one, recorded by X Atencio. And if my 40-year old memory may be trusted (I won't defend myself against skeptics on this one), there was no spiel there at all when the HM first opened. |

Well, at the WDW mansion, it's always been the Ghosthost who says "kindly watch your step please...watch your step" While Dan's explanation
makes sense, you'd have to be a pretty stupid guest to to reach the unload area, the safety bar raise and still think it's a gag if it's said by
the ghost host ...HELLO!!

You could put up a sign that says, "The sky is blue" in twelve languages, and not a day would pass without someone saying something like, "Oh, I thought it said the sky is orange." |

WDW has many more guests in general. A sizable portion of which are tourists who don't speak English...and yet, they are able to figure it out like anyone
else.
Honestly, I'm not sure why the exit spiel at DL was changed. No one seemed to have a problem leaving their doombuggy when the original spiel was in place, and the new one seems a bit overkill to me. Although, when the park has hand washing instructions posted in the restooms, overkill shouldn't be surprising. |

If I recall, the original spiel was supposed to go like this:
You put your right foot in You put your right foot out You put your right foot in And you ~shake~ it all about. The problem was this dramatically lengthened the time it took to unload the Doombuggies, so the simpler spiel was used instead. |

Wait, I've heard that before! | ||

You put your right foot in
You put your right foot out You put your right foot in And you ~shake~ it all about. Isn't that spiel still used on the Jungle Cruise? Something about translating what the natives are saying. |

Of course it is. | ||
