Among the concept art is a Marc Davis changing portrait, never used. The "before" depicts a lovely, if sad-faced, bride in a Victorian gown. The "after" depicts a skeletal figure, her gown in tatters and covered with cobwebs.

So...maybe they could have used the same special effects that created Constance to create a beautiful, sorrowful young woman with a glowing, beating heart, calling out for her lost groom...who morphs into a skeleton, her bridal gown ragged, but her heart still beating.

What do you think? (Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with Constance...I just wonder if this might have been better.)

I agree with much of this.... the first post of this thread.

I felt that the old 'blue bride' looked like a very ugly mannequin. Her hair was all wrong, etc. Yet, even in my adulthood, she gave me the spooks. It may have been the audio of the beating heart that did it for me, but I found the attic scene to be the most unsettling and disturbing of the whole ride.

I haven't seen Constance in person yet, but I love the new technology used to create her from what I've seen in videos. However, I don't like her as a murderess and don't particularly like her talking at all.

I think she should be digitally projected with a fan blowing her dress and veil WITH the glowing, beating heart and its audio. Perhaps her face could be moaning or crying rather than speaking with a very sheer veil covering her face so we can't see all of the details of it. Could she have long hair that blows to add movement and fix the "egg head problem" mentioned? I also like the idea of her holding a candle that actually flickers... just because the face of the mannequin is projected onto a plain head doesn't mean that she can't be animatronic with arms that sway holding a candle.

AND..... it would be AWESOME if the veil could be covering her face and then fly up to reveal it. It could appear that the a gust of wind blows the veil up when it is actually attached to a string of sorts, the actual air blowing suddenly upward would help create the illusion by making the hair and gown and veil move and then settle. Or, her animatronic hand could actually come up under the veil to lift it, while the other holds the candle. This would add mystery and suspense to seeing her face.
