Well, there was too much merchandise at the last Happy Haunts event and it killed the Mansion collectibles market for those items for a few years. Those pieces are just now beginning to show some value.

I think they took that into account in deciding what the limitations on editions were.

The way to figure out overall attendance is by knowing how many people they can seat for the dinner: then you know the number of folks in the top three tiers, and I'm guessing you can double that figure and add some more to come up with a total. Using past numbers as a guess:

1. There are a total of 50 to 100 people in the top two tiers (with hotel rooms) who get four gifts.
2. There are 250 to 350 people in the third tier (no hotel room) who get three gifts.
3. There are 350 to 550 people in the fourth tier (no hotel room, no dinner, no panel) who get two gifts and can attend a cake slicing.

Total: low count is 650, high count is 1000.

Now, take into account how many items have editions of 999. So, I would say my high count is about right and that they sold 999 tickets. The highest edition number gives it away. They want to ensure that everyone who buys on the RSP can get at least a few limited edition items.

Anyway, that's my best guess.
